The Breisgau- S- Bahn GmbH ( BOD ) is a regional railway undertakings (RUs ), which was founded in 1995 as a subsidiary of Freiburg traffic AG ( VAG) and the Southwest German transport company ( SWEG ). The shares were up 31 December 2012 to 50 percent in the city of Freiburg Freiburg traffic belonging AG and owned by the State of Baden- Württemberg, South West German traffic AG. History

On 24 January 1996, the Breisgau- S- Bahn GmbH received approval as a railway company. Since 1 June 1997, it provides to the Breisach train from Freiburg (Breisgau ) Hauptbahnhof to Breisach in rail passenger transport ( regional rail ). As of December 15, 2002 were connections from Freiburg to Elzach added over a section of the Rhine Valley line and on the Elz Valley Railway.
