Width Brunn am Neusiedler See is a municipality with 1908 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Burgenland in the district of Eisenstadt-Umgebung in Austria. The Hungarian name of the village is Fertőszéleskút.

The municipality is located in the northern Burgenland. Width Brunn am Neusiedler See is a market town.

Origin of the name

His name has become the place of a mineral water spring located there. The German name for the first time in 1257 is as Praittenbrunn. In Hungarian, he first appears in 1332 as Praytunbpron in vulgari hungarico Zyluskuth, resulting in the present Hungarian form Fertőszéleskút has developed (literally " width Brunn on Lake Neusiedl ").

History

Before Christ's birth, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area of the Celtic hillfort castle on the Schwarzenbacher Castle Hill.
