Breiter Luzin

The width of Luzin is a mesotrophic lake in the Feldberg Lakes in the East Mecklenburg. Its name derives from the Slavic tribe domiciled here once the Lusatians.

Location

The lake has an approximate length of 3.3 kilometers and a width of 1.8 kilometers. It is located in the Natural Park Feldberg Lakes north-east of the main town of Feldberg, Mecklenburg -Western Pomerania district Mecklenburg Lake District in East Mecklenburg.

Formation

He is a glacial Zungenbeckensee which arose during the Weichsel glaciation. The width of Luzin is the second deepest lake in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Structure

The lake is divided into two parts, which are separated by the isthmus Mönkenwerder. The western part is the significantly larger and deeper. Use

The lake is used for recreational purposes and for fishing. Are located on him four beaches one of which is located on the west bank of the Feldberg hut, a nudist beach on the southeast shore and a beach on the northeastern shore. The 4th beach is located on the L 231 ( on Luetten lake). Boating on the lake with boats with internal combustion engine is only allowed locals.

Fauna

Common fish species include: eel, burbot, whitefish, pike, perch, roach, ruffe, lead, tench and bleak, rarely occur crucian carp, bream, three-spined stickleback, carp, silver carp, perch and catfish. The Siberian bullhead ( Cottus poecilopus ) is very rarely available. As cancer and molluscs are in the lake of the American crayfish, the relic cancer ( Mysis relicta ) and the Great river mussel ( Unio Tumidus ) home, which is now extremely rare in Germany.
