Bremsnitz
Bremsnitz is a municipality in the southeast of the Saale- wood - country circuit and part of the joint management hills / valleys in Thuringia.
Location
The district Bremsnitz is located southeast of the hall - wood - country circuit and is one of the so-called valleys villages. They are mostly in the valley, on slopes and at higher levels in that region. The fox hill bounded to the east the hall from the district with forest. The leading through the district of county road 111 has a connection to the country road 2318th

The small community is located away from the major traffic flows. Federal highway 281 runs about 10 kilometers south of Bremsnitz. The nearest motorway junction is Hermsdorf -south on the Autobahn 9
Weekday Bremsnitz is connected to the line 427 of the transport undertaking Andreas Schröder to the cities Hermsdorf and Stadtroda. The nearest railway stations are Neustadt ( Orla ) (about 10 kilometers away on the route Leipzig- Gera - Saalfeld- Probstzella ) and Stadtroda ( about 13 kilometers away on the route Weimar -Jena -Gera ).
History
Bremsnitz was mentioned in documents for the first time on September 7, 1358. The farmers of the predominantly agricultural town had to go the way of collectivization of their farms from 1952.
