Brenda & the Tabulations

Brenda & the Tabulations were an American singing group, the mid-1960s was in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was founded.

The group consisted of Brenda Payton ( born October 24, 1945 † June 14, 1992 ) as well as the singers Eddie Jackson, Maurice Coates and Jerry Jones. The quartet released several R & B songs, and 1967, the single " Dry Your Eyes" could place also ranked 20 in the U.S. charts. The eponymous album contained original compositions in addition also funky versions of songs by the Beach Boys ( God Only Knows ), The Marvelettes ( Forever ), The Supremes ( Where Did Our Love Go) or Dionne Warwick's second top hit Walk On By.

In 1970 the music producer and songwriter Van McCoy, the band under contract, changed the male background singer Jackson and Jones against the singers Pat Mercer and Deborah Martin and gave them again some hits in the "Black- Charts ". Also, " Right On The Tip Of My Tongue" came in 1971 in the official sales charts ( number 23 ).
