Brendan Buckley (ice hockey)
Brendan Buckley ( born February 6, 1977 in Needham, Massachusetts) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since July 2010 Ritten Sport under contract.
Career
Buckley began his career in 1995 at Boston College in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. After his first season defensively oriented defenders in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 was selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the fifth round at 117th place. He stayed three more years in Boston before he / 2000 signed his first professional contract in the system of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for the 1999 season.
There he spent most of the season with the Quad City Mallards in the United Hockey League and also completed four games for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League. After changing Buckley played the following four years for the farm team of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL. Further stations were the Syracuse Crunch, Worcester IceCats, Peoria Rivermen and Manchester Monarchs. With the Monarchs of Americans went as team captain in the 2007/ 08 season, but decided due to discrepancies in the team environment and a move to Europe.
He signed a one-year contract with the Iserlohn Roosters in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. After the play time of the contract the defense was indeed extended by one year, during the summer break was however announced that Buckley had signed a contract in the system of the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. After the season preparatory training camp sent him into this farm team, the Worcester Sharks of the AHL.
The season 2009/10 he joined the Chicago Wolves in the AHL before he was hired by the EHC Linz in November 2009. In July 2010 he moved to Ritten Sport of the Italian Serie A1.
