Brendan of Birr

Brendan of Birr (* about 500 in Ireland, † uncertain: November 29 573 in Birr ) was an Irish abbot and saint. His exact year of birth and the location can not be determined. He headed the monastery at Birr and was supposedly a friend of Columba of Iona. Brendan is considered as disciple of St. Finnian of Clonard. Maybe he died on 29 November 573, whereby the place of death could not be clearly demonstrated. Brendan was canonized; His feast day is November 29.
