Brenden Morrow

Brenden Morrow ( born January 16, 1979 in Carlyle, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League for the position of left winger since September 2013.

Career

Brenden Morrow began his career in the Western Hockey League with the Portland Winter Hawks. There he played four years and was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 by the Dallas Stars in the first round to 25th place. In 1998, he won with the Winter Hawks to the Memorial Cup and went directly to his last year in the juniors to the NHL.

In his first season in Dallas, he reached 33 points, a mark he fell below 31 points only in the 2006/07 season, as he could deny only 40 games in the regular season due to severe injuries. These statistics show that Morrow was always a constant and valuable points supplier for the Stars. Especially in the so-called "new" NHL, it is made smaller, but fast and robust players like Morrow easier to earn points. The maximum score he achieved in the 2005/06 season with 65 points. For this achievement, leadership and he was equipped in the summer of 2006 with a new six -year contract and appointed on 29 September 2006 as the new captain of the Dallas Stars, sparking Mike Modano in place from. Morrow represented his country at the U20 World Youth Championship in 1999, the World Championships in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005, the World Cup of Hockey in 2004 and the Olympic Winter Games 2010. During the U20 Junior World Championship 1999, he scored one goal and seven assists. In the final match he defeated with Canada against Russia and won the silver medal. At the World Cup 2004, the winger headed for Canada at four points to win the World Cup.
