Brent Fedyk

Brent Fedyk ( born March 3, 1967 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey forward who was active in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars and New York Rangers.

Career

Brent Fedyk began his career in 1983 at the Regina Pats of the Canadian Junior Football League WHL. He played there a solid first season with 43 points in 63 games and moved with the team to the finals of the playoffs, where they were subject to the Kamloops Junior Oilers. In the following two years, Fedyk developed into a good two-way forward with skills in offense and defense, which is why he was eight selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1985 by the Detroit Red Wings in the first round at position.

In his fourth season at the Junior 1986, he was transferred from the Regina Pats in the WHL with the Seattle Thunderbirds, who submitted him to only 13 games at the Portland Winter Hawks. In 1987 Fedyk made ​​his debut in the pros and spent most of the season in the AHL with the Adirondack Red Wings, the former farm team from Detroit. In his second year in Adirondack he already belonged to the guide players, scored 40 goals in 66 games and was preparing another 28 matches ago. At the end of the season he won the Calder Cup with the team, where he scored a hat -trick in a decisive 10-7 victory over the New Haven Nighthawks.

After Fedyk had also played seven times for Detroit in the NHL in his first two years in addition to his appearances for the Adirondack Red Wings, he was allowed in the 1989/90 season more often for Detroit on the ice, spent half of the season but still in the AHL. 1990 finally he managed to jump into the trunk of the squad Detroit Red Wings and scored 35 points scorer in 67 games. In December 1995 he was sent to a transfer of business to the Dallas Stars, where he played the season to end.
