Brent Malone

The painter Richard Brent Malone ( born 1941 in Nassau, Bahamas; † 5 February 2004 ) was a representative of Photorealism and a gallery owner.

Life

Brent Malone began his career in Nassau as a potter. In the Chelsea Pottery, he worked as a newbie, but wanted to move to his art studies at the Don Russell 's Academy of Fine Arts to England to exhibit their work at Ravensbourne College as an art teacher certificates. A further study was therefore used at the Bechenham School of Art. Malone was - 1964, 23 years later - invited by Sir Harold Christie to return to Nassau, and to become chairman of the Chelsea Pottery. After a short time and a name change to Bahamian Pottery, he gave up the business. This experiment helped him in his future career as Galeriebeitzer. He had the Loft Gallery, the matinee Gallery, Temple Gallery and the Marlborough Antiques about his entire life. These galleries were important exhibition spaces for young artists from the Bahamas, whose works were important for Malone. With Anthony Roberts, Max Taylor, Stan Burnside, Jackson Burnside and John Beadle 1991 he founded the group B. CAUSE for the embodiment of their art. In many images Malones the Junkanoo parade is presented. Apart from the main Photorealism his pictures also contain surrealism.

In 2004, he died of a heart attack at a hospital in Nassau.
