Brent Scowcroft

Brent Scowcroft ( born March 19, 1925 in Ogden, Utah ) is a former American Major General, Military Assistant to President Richard Nixon and National Security Advisor to U.S. President Gerald Ford and George Bush sr. 1975 to 1977 and 1989 to 1993. Under President George W. Bush, he was chairman of the advisory group of the " Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board " (2001 to 2005).

Life

Scowcroft studied at the Military Academy at West Point and received his doctorate in 1967 from Columbia University. During his military career, Scowcroft has held various positions in the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the Military Academy at West Point.
