The colonization of Brent dated still from pre-Roman times and thus even from before the foundation of London. Many tools from pre-Roman period have been excavated in Brent. Leave the quality and frequency of the tools found suggest that Brentford was a meeting place for pre-Roman peoples who have there probably held customs and ceremonies.

It is also assumed that the Thames could be easily crossed earlier in Brentford and Gaius Julius Caesar had crossed the Thames at this point during the invasion of Britain.

By 1888 Brentford was still an independent place ( Middlesex ) outside the city.

1889, the resident of the district football club Brentford FC was founded.
