Geography

Brentwood is drained by the rivers Piscassic, Little and Exeter. The place has an area of 44 km ², of which 43.6 km ² of land and 0.4 km ² (0.94 %) of water. The highest point in Brentwood is Great Hill ( Big Hill) 84 m above sea level, located in the southeastern municipality.

History

Before Europeans settled in Brentwood, were the areas around Brentwood from the Abenaki tribe Pennacook. When the English came to New Hampshire, Brentwood was a part of the town and Exeter known as Brentwood Parish, named after the Brentwood in the English county of Essex, which takes its name from Burnt Wood ( burnt wood ) is derived.
