Brenz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Brenz is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Neustadt- Glewe based in the town of Neustadt -Glewe.

Geography

The municipality comprises the villages of Old Brenz together with the the hilltop village church and New Brenz with the old Slavs castle. To the west of the municipality runs the Brenzer channel.

History

Around 700 was a Slavic castle on the territory of today's Brenz. The remains of the castle walls are in New Brenz recognizable towards Lewitz today. The first mention of Brenz was in the year 946 as terra brenzia in a charter of Emperor Otto the I..

The installation of new Brenz is named after the local church book a result of a major fire in Brenz on 29 March 1800 in which 64 houses and the parish, including all church records fell victim to the flames.

On November 1, 1968, the former municipality Neuhof went on in the community Brenz with their small hamlet Laasch. On 1 January 1974 Brenz was incorporated into Blievenstorf, Neuhof and small Laasch but there were reclassified to Neustadt -Glewe. May 1, 1990 Old Hot and New Brenz were a spin-off back to the autonomous municipality Brenz.

Coat of arms

Designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick coat of arms was approved on 18 August 2003 by the Home Office and registered under No. 284 in the coat of arms role of the state Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

Blazon: " Split; forward in a floating gold, pointed red roofed castle tower Slavic type with open gate; back in blue two diagonally crossed golden ears of corn. "

Flag
