Brett Lancaster

Brett Lancaster (* 15 November 1979 in Shepparton, Victoria) is an Australian professional racing cyclist. Its strengths lie in the track cycling and for short road time trial. He drove for the Italian team Ceramiche Panaria to 2005. In the years 2006 - 2008 he drove for Team Milram. In 2009 he replaced as Sprintanfahrer for Thor Hushovd to the Cervélo TestTeam.

Career

He won at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the gold medal in the 4000 meter team pursuit discipline. Together with Graeme Brown, Bradley McGee and Luke Roberts he put it in the semifinals with a time of 3:56,610 minutes a new world record.

His greatest success as a road racer, he celebrated at the Giro d' Italia 2005. He won the prologue in Reggio Calabria and wore one day the Maglia Rosa of the overall ranking first. For the 1150 -meter distance of the shortest prologue in the history of the Giro he needed 1:20 minutes.
