Breunigweiler

Breunigweiler is a municipality in the Rhineland-Palatinate Donnersbergkreis. It belongs to the municipality Winnweiler.

Geography

Breunigweiler located in the North Palatine Uplands on any of the northern foothills of the Palatinate Forest in the far east of the municipality Winnweiler. The village is crossed by the Pfrimm. Ecclesiastical makes it on the Protestant side of the community with Sippersfeld and Neuhemsbach on Catholic with Börrstadt. Other direct neighboring towns are Standenbühl and Steinbach at Thunder Mountain, as well as ( on public roads only indirectly accessible ) Göllheim, candles and home Ramsen.

History

Breunigweiler probably originated in the period 600-750 AD. The first written mention dates from 1130, when the Archbishop of Mainz Adalbert I the cathedral chapter donated goods in Breunigweiler.

Breunigweiler belonged to the late 18th century to the reign Stauf was last in possession of the Prince of Nassau -Weilburg.

After 1792 French revolutionary troops occupied the region and annexed after the peace of Campo Formio (1797 ). From 1798 to 1814 the village belonged to the French department of Thunder Mountain and was assigned to the Canton Winnweiler. In 1802 the community had 301 inhabitants: 14 Catholics, 251 Lutherans, Reformed 13, and 23 Jews.

Taken in response to the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) Agreements and a barter agreement with Austria the region came in 1816 with the Kingdom of Bavaria. As of 1818, the municipality Breunigweiler was the country 's Commissariat of Kaiserslautern in the Bavarian Rhine Kreis. After the Second World War Breunigweiler was part of the French zone of occupation, and in 1946 part of Rhineland- Palatinate newly formed. Since 1969, the community is part of the Thunder Mountain district.

The Church of St. Margaret was in 1501 a branch of Börrstadt and had 1516 the Otter Mountain abbot for patronage Lord.

The Protestant church in the village was built in 1763-1766 and was last renovated in 2008.

Parish council

The local council in Breunigweiler consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The eight seats in the City Council are distributed among three groups of voters. In the previous election in 2004, the council members were elected by majority vote.
