Brian Gibson (director)

Brian Gibson ( born September 22, 1944 in London, † January 4, 2004 ) was a British film director, screenwriter and film producer.

Career

For Brian Gibson's major film projects included the award-winning biopic Tina - What's Love Got to Do with It? ( 1993), which has the life story of Tina Turner (played by Angela Bassett ) on the topic, as well as the horror film Poltergeist II - The Other Side (1986). For the TV movie The Josephine Baker Story ( 1991) with Lynn Whitfield in the title role of Brian Gibson won an Emmy. Gibson - not related to Mel Gibson - died in 2004 after a long illness. His last film project was the Oscar-winning biopic Frida (2001), was involved in the Gibson Executive Producer (executive producer).
