Brian Greenhoff

Brian Green Hoff ( born April 28, 1953 in Barnsley, † May 22 2013 in Rochdale ) was an English footballer.

Career

Since Green Hoff was born in Barnsley, he played in his early youth for the " Yorkshire Schoolboys ". In August 1968, he went as a youth player at Manchester United, where he was a professional football player. On September 8, 1973 he played his first competitive match for the first team of Manchester United vs Ipswich Town. In 1977, he won the FA Cup with the team; at that time he played with Martin Buchan in central defense.

Green Hoff was a very flexible player who began his career as a midfielder and finished as a central defender of international class. Overall, Green Hoff scored 17 goals in 271 appearances for Manchester.

His brother Jimmy also played for Manchester United. In 1979, Green Hoff for £ 350,000 to Leeds United and left the club in 1983 in the direction Rovaniemen Palloseura, Finland.

Between 1983 and 1984 he was player-coach at AFC Rochdale, where his brother was a manager at the same time. In 1984 the brothers could dissolve their contracts at Rochdale.
