Brian Higgins

Brian Higgins ( born October 6, 1959 in Buffalo ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party. Since 2005 he is a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 27th Congressional District of the State of New York. The district includes parts of Buffalo and the entire Chautauqua County.

Biography

Higgins was born in Buffalo where he still lives today. His Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, he received in 1984 at Buffalo State College. In Buffalo Common Council ( city council ), he was from 1988 to 1993 representatives of the Southern District of Buffalo. His Master of Public Administration, he received in 1996 from Harvard University. From 1999 until his election to the U.S. House of Representatives, he represented the 145th District of New York in the New York State Assembly.

As the successor of Jack Quinn Higgins was elected right in the 2004 elections with almost 50.3 % of the vote in the House of Representatives. His seat he defended in all subsequent elections. The Committee on Ways and Means in the House of Representatives, he is one of the members.
