Brian Lee (ice hockey, born 1987)

Brian Lee ( born March 26, 1987 in Fargo, North Dakota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since February 2012, when the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Brian Lee first played 2003-2005 Hockey for the Moorhead Spuds, the high school team of Moorhead High School, in the high school league system of the United States. After completing his high school career, Lee won the annual award as Minnesota Mr. Hockey, which honors the best high school player of the U.S. state of Minnesota in the 2005 calendar year. His last season as a high school actor spent the Americans temporarily at the Lincoln Stars, for which he was active in the Junior League United States Hockey League in the season 2004/ 05.

He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the first round as a whole ninth player from the Ottawa Senators. First, however, he attended for two years the University of North Dakota and played in parallel for their hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In his first year of university, he won with his team right away the championship of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, in their All- Rookie Team, he was elected. In the 2007 /08 season the defender made ​​his debut for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League, as he prepared a goal in six games. He spent the entire rest of the season, however, at their farm team in Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. For Binghamton, he scored three goals in 55 games and made 22 templates.

From 2008 to 2010 Lee was parallel for Ottawa in the NHL and in the AHL Binghamton on the ice. From the season 2010/11 the Americans played exclusively for the NHL team the Ottawa Senators. On 27 February 2012 he transferred this in exchange for Matt Gilroy to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Internationally

For the U.S., Lee took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007. His greatest achievement was winning the international bronze medal at the U20 World Youth Championship in 2007.
