Brian Martin (luger)

Brian Martin ( born January 19, 1974 in Palo Alto) is an American luger.

Brian Martin is one with his partner Mark Grimmette of the most successful doubles in the sport of luge since the mid- 1990s. They are to be regarded as the successor to the U.S. world class duo Chris Thorpe and Gordy Sheer. Martin began in 1988 with the sledding. 59 times they were in international competitions podiums reach (18 x Siege - 17 x second- placed - 24 x Third Place ). Her accomplishments include winning the bronze medal at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano and the silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. In 2006, the duo did not come to the finish. At the World Championships in 2004 and 2005, they won silver with the team bronze in 2001. When they won the double in 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2007 the bronze medal. The overall World Cup they won in the seasons 1997/1998, 1998/1999 and 2002/2003, third place, they were 1999/2000. Nine World Cup races to win the double. In addition, from 1998 to 2002 and 2005, five national championships in the United States.
