Brian Pockar

Brian James Pockar ( born October 27, 1959 in Calgary, Alberta, † April 28, 1992 ) was a Canadian figure skater, who started in a single run.

Pockar was in the years 1978, 1979 and 1980, three consecutive Canadian figure skating champion of men and occupied in 1981 and 1982 ranked second behind Brian Orser. He celebrated his biggest success in 1982 when he won the bronze medal at the World Figure Skating Championships.

After the end of his athletic career Pockar worked as a choreographer. He toured with Stars on Ice, which was produced by IMG.

Pockar died in 1992 of complications from AIDS. In 1999 published autobiography Landing It by Scott Hamilton this Pockar outed as a homosexual.
