Brian Robertson

Brian Robertson ( born February 12, 1956 in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire ) is a Scottish musician and guitarist. He became famous for his work with Thin Lizzy and Motörhead.

Robertson learned originally eight years cello and drums, before he came to the guitar. One of his first bands, Dream Police, was later to Average White Band.

In June 1974 Thin Lizzy was a rehearsal for a new guitarist and tried the only 18 -year-old Robertson. He was hired and formed with lead guitarist Scott Gorham the guitar department of the band.

Robertson had twice separated by Thin Lizzy and left the band in 1978 for good, and was succeeded by the then already known Gary Moore, who had played in 1974 with Thin Lizzy. In 1983, he came for a one-off concert with his former band on the stage.

After the end of work with Thin Lizzy Robertson founded the British rock band Wild Horses, together with the also dismissed ex- Rainbow bassist Jimmy Bain. The group broke up after two mediocre successful albums.

In 1982, he got a phone call if he was not interested in replacing with Motörhead " Fast" Eddie Clarke, who had left the band. After five days of rehearsals, he was already on 5 May 1982 in Detroit with the British rockers on stage. Robertson took with Motörhead on the album Another Perfect Day, but left the group in 1983 again. During his time with Motörhead, he was almost killed by a Rocker of the Hells Angels because he was wearing at a gig green satin pants and ballerina shoes. In the band, Lemmy Kilmister around he was replaced by Phil Campbell and Würzel.
