Brian Sandoval

Brian Edward Sandoval (born 5 August 1963 Redding, California) is an American lawyer and politician ( Republican). Since early January 2011, he held the office of Governor of the State of Nevada.

Life

After leaving school, Sandoval studied law at the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University. At the University of Nevada, he also studied English and economics. After finishing his studies, Sandoval worked as an attorney for several law offices in Reno. From 1994 to April 1998, he was represented as a deputy in the Nevada Assembly. In 1999 he opened his own law firm. Between January 2003 and October 2005, he practiced as a successor of Frankie Sue Del Papa, the Office of the Attorney General of Nevada; after Sandoval was until August 2009 judge at the Federal District Court for the District of Nevada.

In the gubernatorial election on November 2, 2010, Sandoval was able to beat the Democrat Rory Reid, the son of U.S. Senator Harry Reid. As governor of Nevada he released in January 2011 from Jim Gibbons. Sandoval lives with his family in Reno. He is married and has three children.
