Brian Sutherby

Brian Sutherby ( born March 1, 1982 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.

Playing career

The 1.91 m wide center began his career with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League before he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 as 26th in the first round by the Capitals.

In the 2001 /02 season the links Sagittarius came for the first time in the NHL for use, further he stood for the Capitals farm team Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League on the ice. Already in the following season, he belonged to the tribe squad in Washington.

2004 Sutherby was nominated for the NHL Young Stars Game after he was able to achieve two goals and an assist for the team in the Eastern Conference, he was even named the Most Valuable Player. From the season 2006/ 07, the Canadian was vice captain of the Washington Capitals. Shortly after the beginning of the season 2007 /08 he moved for a draft pick of the second round in the NHL Entry Draft in 2009 to the Anaheim Ducks. Similar happened in the 2008 /09 season, when he was given to a young player and a performance-based draft electoral law to the Dallas Stars. After End of contract in the summer of 2011, the Canadian was available as a free agent, but was obliged to mid-October 2011 by any NHL team. A short time later, Sutherby opted for a professional try-out with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. After completing his engagements with the Rampage in December 2011, the striker was again available as a free actor.
