Brian Talbot

Brian Talbot ( born July 21, 1953 in Ipswich ) is a former English footballer and football coach.

Life and career

Playing career

Talbot began his career at Ipswich Town in the youth team. In the period from 1968-1979 when he was at Ipswich under contract, the Englishman was awarded shortly after Canada's Toronto Metros. After the short trip to North Talbot in 1978 FA Cup winner with the Blue. A year later, the midfielder moved to FC Arsenal, for a transfer fee of £ 450,000. Instant regulars, he won his second FA Cup in 1979 with the Gunners. Talbot's greatest strengths were his stamina and fitness. After the end of his contract with the Gunners he played for a short time at Watford FC, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Fulham FC Aldershot Town and Sudbury. He was also from 1984-1988 President of the English players' union. Internationally, he played once for the England football team. Talbot ended his active career in 1993.

Coaching career

Talbot's first coach station was West Bromwich Albion, where he served as player-coach. Later he trained as a player-coach nor the FC Aldershot. In 1991 he came to Hibernians a club from the small Mediterranean island of Malta. With the Maltese he picks in 1993 and 1994, the national championship. Three years after his last title he returned to England and trained for seven years Rushden & Diamonds from Irthlingborough. Under his leadership, the team rose to 2003 in the third highest English league. After brief appearances at Oldham Athletic and Oxford United, he returned back to Malta in 2006 and coached from 2006 to 2008 FC Marsaxlokk, with which he was again Maltese champions in 2007. Between 2008 to February 2011, he was Technical Director of the Association.

In February 2011, Talbot Scout was the English Premier League club Fulham where he was active as a player already in 1990/91. Talbot is in the Cottagers especially for players observations in the major European leagues, such as in Germany and France, in charge.
