Bricscad

Bricscad is a CAD program that was developed by Bricsys. Originally it was based on the IntelliCAD engine. It was designed for Windows, but since September 2010 as one of the few CAD systems that support Linux. The Linux version is similar in functionality to the Bricscad Classic version.

Bricscad Pro contains additional licensing for the ACIS kernel for 3D solid modeling, and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). Bricscad uses the Open Design Alliance Library to read and write the. Dwg file format, which is used by AutoCAD. Bricscad offers high compatibility with AutoCAD. Due to the compatible to AutoCAD programming interfaces ( LISP, Diesel, DCL, COM, SDS and BRX ) applications run without any major adjustments - after compiling with the Bricscad for AutoCAD Libraries of the written source code - even on Bricscad.

From the Bricscad PRO version 11 the CAD program contains a renderer of Redway 3D. This allows it to work in permanent render mode as well as to create and manage lights and materials.
