Brightlingsea

Brightlingsea is a coastal town in Essex (England) in the Tendring District with approximately 8,500 inhabitants. It lies approximately between Clacton -on-Sea Colchester and at the mouth of the River Colne in the English Channel.

Among the traditional industries mainly include fishing ( with a famous oyster fishery) and shipbuilding. Since the decline of these industries, the town is a dormitory town and a popular place for retirement.

The city has an active recreational boating scene. The Brightlingsea Sailing Club organizes sailing competitions and has produced many champions at the international and Olympic level.

In the center of town, Jacobs Hall, the oldest building in England designed from timber stands. In Victoria Square in the center of the city are mainly shops.
