Brimin Kipruto

Kiprop Kipruto Brimin (born 31 July 1985 in Korkitony at Chebiemit, Marakwet ) is a Kenyan steeplechaser.

The Youth Vice World Champion 2001 in the 2000 -meter steeplechase in 2003 African Vice - junior champion over 3,000 m steeplechase.

After he had qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens, he joined in the summer of 2004 for the last time at an international junior competition, winning at the Junior World Championships bronze in the 1500 meter race.

In Athens he won silver on 3000m steeplechase. Ezekiel Kemboi ( gold) and Paul Kipsiele Koech ( bronze ) made ​​the Kenyan triple triumph perfect.

At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he gained a bronze medal in the same discipline. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, he won with a time of 8:13,82 minutes the gold medal in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in front of his countrymen Ezekiel Kemboi and Richard Kipkemboi Mateelong. A year later at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing represented again Mateelong, Kemboi and Kipruto, the Kenyan team. Kipruto won in 8:10,34 minutes gold ahead of France's Mahiedine Mekhissi - Benabbad and Mateelong while Kemboi finished as defending only the seventh. In the World Cup 2011, Kipruto secured with a time of 8:16,05 minutes the silver medal.
