Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mount Coot-tha

The Brisbane Botanic Gardens is a park in the district of Toowong Brisbane, the capital of the Australian state of Queensland. The botanical garden is located about seven kilometers from the city center, at the foot of Mount Coot- tha.

The park, which covers an area of about 52 acres in total, was founded by the Brisbane City Council in 1970 and 1976 officially opened. It is the second botanical garden in the field of local government unit Brisbane. The first park of this kind is known as the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens and is located in the Central Business District of Brisbane. The city council decided to create a second park because the city center was no more room for expansion and there were frequent floods.

The park is open daily 8-17 clock. Admission is free.
