Bristol and North Somerset Railway

The Bristol and North Somerset Railway was a railway company in South West England.

The Company received on 21 July 1863, the concession for the construction of a 32 km long railway line from Bristol to Radstock. There was subsequent to the Great Western Railway ( GWR ). Although it has already started on 7 October 1863 with the construction, could be taken up only on 3 September 1873 due to financial problems of operation.

In 1870 it was agreed with the Great Western Railway operations management. Effective August 7, 1884, the company was eventually taken over by the GWR.

On March 1, 1882 the route of Hallatrow was opened after Camerton, which was further extended to 9 May 1910 to Limpley Stoke.
