Bristol Harbour Railway

The Bristol Harbour Railway was a railway company in Bristol in South West England.

The Bristol Harbour Railway was established on June 28, 1866 a 1.6 km long railway line of the Great Western Railway track at Temple Meads Station to build in the harbor Wapping Wharf. The company was owned by the Great Western Railway ( GWR ), the Bristol and Exeter Railway ( B & ER) and the Bristol City Corporation. On 1 May 1872, the line was opened. The operation was carried out jointly by the owners. As of June 30, 1874, the GWR and the B & ER control shared.

As part of the acquisition of the B & ER on August 1, 1876, the Bristol Harbour Railway was taken over by the GWR. On October 4, 1906, the line was extended to the Canons Marsh.

Today, the Bristol Industrial Museum operates under the name Bristol Harbour Railway, a heritage railway in the port of Bristol.
