Britannia superior

The Roman province of Britannia Superior arose from the division of the province of Britannia ( Britain). Although the exact definition of the neighboring province of Britannia Inferior is not recorded, can be determined by inscriptions that this province the south of England including Wales and today's East Anglia region included; their capital was Londinium, now London. Its head was an imperial legate in consular rank. In the 4th century AD, the province was further divided by the administrative reforms of the emperor Diocletian, probably first in the provinces of Britannia and Britannia prima Caesariensis, the latter a little later in the provinces and Flavia Maxima Caesariensis Caesariensis.
