British Cycling Hall of Fame

The British Cycling Hall of Fame was established in 2009. The occasion was the 50th anniversary of the British Cycling Federation British Cycling.

On 17 December 2009 the names of the first 50 sportsmen and sportswomen were announced, have found acceptance into the " British Cycling Hall of Fame". 300 cyclists had been nominated. The jury consisted of Victoria Pendleton ( athlete ), Brian Cookson ( athletes and officials ), William Fotheringham (Journalist and Author), Robert Garbutt (journalist ), Peter King ( official ) and Hugh Porter ( athlete and journalist).

In August 2011, the exhibition "Hall of Fame" was opened at the Manchester Velodrome. On this occasion, the racing cyclist Reg Harris was taken, whose statue can be seen also in the velodrome.
