Brittany Bowe

Brittany Bowe ( born February 24, 1988 in Ocala, Florida ( USA) ) is an American speed skater and former inline Speedskaterin.

Bowe started her career as an inline Speedskaterin. At eight, she stood for the first time on rollers. Between 2002 and 2005 she won nine World Championship titles at the Junior World Championships. In the senior she won between 2006 and 2008 a further eight World Championship titles.

In 2008, she finished her career as an inline Speedskaterin because she wanted to dedicate himself entirely to college and play basketball. In 2010 she came through the TV coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver on the idea to try speed skating. Since 2011 she participates in World Cup races, where she focused on the sprint distances over 500 m and 1000 m. In 2012 it reached an eighth place over 1000m in the individual sections Cup in Heerenveen.

2013, it was first used at the World Cup race in Calgary on the podium, finishing 3rd place twice over 1000 meters. In Erfurt her also succeeded then even the first World Cup victory over their favorite distance of 1000 meters. When Sprint Championships 2013 in Salt Lake City she finished eighth. At the World Cup in 2013 in Sochi, it was about 1000 meters third parties, thereby won her first international medal.

On 17 November 2013, it introduced over 1000 meters with 1:12,58 a world record.

Bowe trained in Salt Lake City along with Heather Richardson, the world champion in sprint 2013. At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014, she took over 1000 meters eighth.
