Brønnøysund is a town in the Norwegian municipality Brønnøy.

Brønnøysund has 4,648 inhabitants ( 1 January 2012) and is the landing ships of the Hurtigruten. The city is situated on the coastal road Rv17, which is part of the Golden Route in the middle of Norway.

Attractions

Near the town, on the island Torget, is the Torghatten, a mountain with a 35 meter high and 160 meter long hole. According to legend, this hole has been hit by an arrow of impetuous prince Hestmannes. Be reached along a trail with views of the archipelago there and can walk through it.
