Brodec (Louny District)

Brodec ( German Brodetz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south of Louny and belongs to Okres Louny.

Geography

Brodec is located in the north of Džbán mountain country in the valley of the brook Klášterský creek. To the south, the Varta ( Warta, 359 m) and Lawicka raise ( Lawitzka, 407 m) and in the northwest the Draha ( Traha, 354 m).

Neighboring towns are Líšťany and Brloh in the north, Smolnice in the northeast, Hříškov and Nová Ves in the east, in the southeast Hvížďalka, Divice and Břinkov in the south, Brodecký Mlýn, Kocanda and Selmice in the southwest and Senkov and Zbrašín in the West.

History

The first mention of the festivals Brodec took place in 1282nd Brodec belonged in the mid-16th century the Vladiken of Lukovec. These were selling their possessions in 1580 at the Hruska of Brezno. Subsequent landlord was Joachim von Stein village whose lands were confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain. The village was then auctioned and passed between different German noble houses. 1651 acquired the Hložek of Žampach the place. The village was part of the Saaz district and the district assigned Zittolieb.

After the abolition of patrimonial Brodce / Brodetz formed in 1850 a municipality in the administrative district of Louny. 1924, the Czech name of the place was changed back to Brodec. In 1976, the annexation to Líšťany and 1981-1991 Brodec was a district of Ročov. Since 1992 Brodec again forms a separate municipality. Brodec is a member of the congregation composite Lounské Podlesí and the smallest municipality in the euro region Erzgebirge / Krušnohoří.
