Broderick Crawford

William Broderick Crawford ( born December 9, 1911 in Philadelphia, † April 26, 1986 in Rancho Mirage, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Broderick Crawford, son of actress Helen Broderick and the comedian Lester Crawford (1882-1962), began his career on Broadway in 1937 and went to Hollywood. The late 1940s and early 1950s, he worked in a number of film noirs and gangster films. For his performance in The man who wanted to rule (1949 ) he was awarded the Oscar, the Golden Globe Award and the New York Film Critics Circle Award. 1955 Crawford played alongside Giulietta Masina, the main role in the film The Dodgers ( Il Bidone ) by Federico Fellini. In 1960 he was awarded two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

After his divorce from Joan Crawford 1940 Tabor married Kay Griffith and had with her two sons.
