Broeltowers

The Broel Towers (nl: Broeltorens ) are two towers in the city of Kortrijk (Belgium ). This medieval towers (together with the artillery tower ) are the only remains of the old city fortifications.

History

The south tower, the Speyetoren. (± 1385 ), was part of the reinforced fencing of the Castle of the Counts.

The north tower, the Ingelborchtoren (± 1413 ), was built to defend with primitive artillery gun. Open to certain events.
