Brohl is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Treis- carding.
Geography
Brohl is a small village in the Eifel. Through the town flows the Brohlbach, which flows into the Moselle in carding. In the vicinity are Treis- carding on the Moselle, Munstermaifeld, and Polch Mayen. Neighboring villages are, inter alia, Roes, Forst ( Eifel) and Kaifenheim.
History
The place is mentioned in a document of 926 as Brula owned by the Abbey of St. Maximin in Trier. The high court Brohl belonged to the " Pellenzgerichten " which were drafted in 1696 as Kurtrier possession. 1711 was issued to the Schenk von Schmidt castle. 1794 was the occupation by the French revolutionary army until 1814 belonged to the canton Brohl Munstermaifeld. 1815 it to the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of the newly founded state of Rhineland- Palatinate.

Blazon: " growing in a golden green, tilted crozier, from the plate edge, accompanied by a silver top ( diamond-shaped ) Rink, down from a silver, slanted left exposed oak rice. "
Coat Explanation: The crosier as an attribute of St.. Nicholas refers to him as a protective and patron of the Eifel community Brohl. The rink from the arms of Schenk von Schmidt castle ("in black with a silver Rink, set with 12 alternating red and blue round stones. ") Stands for the Kurtrierisches fief since 1711 the Brohler high court, and the oak rice symbolizes the oak forest in the district brohl.
Attractions
Worth St. Nicholas Church is in the center, built in 1767, whose renovation in 2006, was completed. From the starting point Brohl is achieved by a multi- hour hike Pyrmont Castle and Burg Eltz.
