Geography

Geographical Location

Brombachtal located in the center of the Odenwald near Bad König. Three of the five districts of the municipality lie within the catchment area of ​​the Brombachs, so for the Brombachtal was eponymous. The highest point in the municipality is in the west of the 443 meter high Heidelberg Böllsteiner Odenwald. The lowest point of about 185 meters is located in the East in the Mümlingniederung roadside of the national highway 45, which forms the boundary of the municipality here.

History

The municipality was established on October 1, 1971 on the occasion of municipal reform in Hesse by the voluntary association of municipalities Birkert, Böllstein, Hembach, Kirch- Brombach (now Kirchbrombach ) and Long - Brombach (now Long Brombach ). On the outskirts of Kirchbrombach direction Lange Brombach a new town hall was built.

In the second ballot on 11 July 2004 Willi Kredel (SPD ) was elected with 66.9 % of the vote for mayor of Brombachtal ( 62.9 % turnout ). In the election of 18 April 2010, he was ( as the only candidate be imputed ) with 93.2 % of the vote confirmed in office ( at 49% declining voter turnout ).

Twinning

Since 30 May 1987, there has a partnership between Brombachtal and the French city of La Rivière -de- Corps, a community in the Champagne region.

Structures

In the district Kirchbrombach the middle of the 15th century Protestant church built is the 1518 built St. Alban- wing altar. The church belonged to the Reformation the abbey of St. Alban in Mainz. The official list of cultural monuments in Brombachtal includes 29 positions.
