Bronchitis

As bronchitis (Greek βρώνχη bronche = throat; plural: bronchitis ) the inflammation of the bronchi is called. Because clinically significant differences a classification is made in:

• Acute bronchitis
• Chronic bronchitis
• Chronic obstructive bronchitis

As tracheobronchitis is called an inflammation of the bronchi and windpipe (trachea ).
