Bronwyn Eagles

Bronwyn Louise Eagles ( born August 23, 1980 in Camden, New South Wales) is an Australian hammer thrower.

At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001, she won with a distance of 68.87 m the bronze medal behind Yipsi Moreno and Olga Kusenkowa. In the same year she won the IAAF Grand Prix Final in Melbourne in second place. In addition, she took at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester with 65.24 m silver medal behind Lorraine Shaw.

With her personal best jump of 71.12 meters, achieved in 2003 in Adelaide, Eagles presented at the same time setting new records for Oceania and the Commonwealth. However, in the following international competitions, she was unable to repeat this performance and was eliminated at the World Athletics Championships at the Olympic Games in 2003 and 2004 respectively from the qualification.

After she had already declared 2006 her retirement from competitive sport, she started again in 2008 for national competitions. She won in 2008 and 2009 at the Australian Championships. Previously, she was the 2001-2002 and 2004-2005 already succeeded. In 2010 she joined the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, finishing in fifth place.

Bronwyn Eagles is 1,78 m tall and has a contest weight of 100 kg.
