Bronze Cross (Netherlands)

The Bronze Cross was instituted on 11 June 1940 by Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands for all soldiers of the Dutch armed forces, who have distinguished themselves in wartime through bold and decisive action.

In exceptional cases, can be a ceremony also to civilians and foreigners.

The decoration is a bronze Teutonic cross with the crowned initial W ( Wilhelmina ) in the center, surrounded by a laurel wreath. At the back in the arms of the cross, the inscription Trouw aan de Koningin Vaderland (trust towards Queen and country ). In the middle of an oak and laurel wreath surrounding the year 1940.

Worn the award is given to an orange belt with a blue center stripe on the left chest.

For repeated awarding a corresponding Arabic numeral bronze is mounted on the tape.
