Brookfield is a city in Waukesha County in the southeast of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2000, Brookfield had 38,649 inhabitants, an estimate in 2006 showed an increase in the population to 39 613.
The city is named after Waukesha the second largest in the same County, which is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The city was formed in 1954.
Brookfield is located at 43 ° 3'29 " north latitude and 88 ° 6'53 " west longitude and extends over 70.0 km ², spread to 69.6 km ² land and 0.4 km ² water surface.
