Broome Dusters

The Broome Dusters were an American ice hockey franchise in the North American Hockey League in Binghamton, New York.

History

The Broome Dusters were established for the 1973/74 season as a franchise in the inaugural North American Hockey League. The most successful season the team was the 1976/77 season, in which the Broome Dusters reached the second playoff round to the Lockhart Cup. In this they were subject to the Maine Nordiques in the best- of-seven series with 1:4 victories.

After the North American Hockey League was disbanded in 1977, also featured the Broome Dusters a game operation. Instead, investors bought the rights to the franchise of Rhode Iceland Reds of the American Hockey League, which henceforth played under the name of Binghamton Dusters in the AHL.
