Bror Östman

Bror Gunnar Östman ( born October 10, 1928 in Själevad, † April 23, 1992 in Örnsköldsvik ) was a Swedish ski jumper.

His first success achieved Östman by winning the Swedish championship in 1951. At the Olympic Winter Games 1952 in Oslo, Norway, he reached the normal hill after a jump to 66.5 m and a fall at 65 m in the second round 32nd. At the Swedish Championships 1953, he won again the gold medal. A year later Östman first appeared on at a World Cup and won at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1954 in Falun behind the two Finns Matti Pietikäinen and Veikko Heinonen the bronze medal on the large hill. 1955 and 1956 he was again the Swedish championship. His last international tournament played Östman with participation in the Olympic Winter Games 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo. After jumps of 75.5 and 76.5 m Östman reached the 14th place on the normal hill.
