Brownout

Brownout ( to German: " Reduced light intensity " or " darkening ", usually meant as a precursor of a blackout) is derived from the English term to refer to:

  • In power supply networks a momentary voltage drop and a possible precursor of a power failure
  • A drop in the supply voltage - primarily with microcontrollers - what a reset (reboot ) can trigger
  • In computer science to a server failure, the loads must then be carried from other servers
  • Brownout (aviation ): a restriction of visibility due to dust or sand, which can lead to complete loss of orientation.
