Bruce Bagemihl

Bruce Bagemihl (born 1962 ) is a Canadian biologist, linguist and author.

Life

After school Bagemihl studied biology. In linguistics Bagemihl reached in 1988 a Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia.

Bagemihl publications include the 1999 book Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity. In this book Bagemihl portrays gay and bisexual behavior as the norm among animals in nature.

As a result of the work of Bagemihl and Joan Roughgarden was the international exhibition Against Nature? started in Oslo. Subject of the exhibition is the appearance and the function of homosexuality among animals. This makes it the first exhibition of its kind
