Bruce Derlin

Phillip Bruce Derlin ( born November 28, 1961 in Sydney ) is a former New Zealand tennis player.

Life

Derlin was in 1979 in the quarterfinals of the junior tournament, the Australian Open, where he defeated among others Wally Masur. Throughout his career, he was able to win three doubles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1984 with position 115 in single and in 1986 with position 86 in doubles.

Derlin played 1982-1988 thirteen singles and two doubles matches for the New Zealand Davis Cup team. Here he succeeded in six single and a double victory. His biggest success was the participation in the quarterfinals of the World Group in 1982, when he was allowed to complete the last, meaningless single in a 3-2 win against Italy.

In the Summer Olympics 1988, he stepped up to double for New Zealand.
